So, what is so magical about the Moringa plant? Moringa oleifera is the most cultivated species in the genus Moringa. It is commonly referred to as Moringa, ben oil tree, or horseradish tree. This plant is native to the sub-Himalayan areas of India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, as well as throughout Central America. The medicinal use has expanded over a thousand years as the leaves, bark, flowers, fruit, seeds, and root have all been used as a medicinally.

The many uses of Moringa are endless but let me name just a few that might just spark your interest. Moringa is used to treat anemia, arthritis, thyroid disorder, asthma, diabetes, cancer, digestive issues such as stomach and intestinal ulcers, headache, heart problems, high blood pressure, fights free radicals, is a strong antioxidant, prevents damage to the cells of different organs of the body, fights inflammation as it has anti-inflammatory properties, supports brain health, protects the liver, boost the immune system, can assist in weight loss, balance sugar levels and boost metabolism. I could go on and on.

The tea has a light pleasant earthy taste and the leaves are also rich in potassium, calcium, iron, vitamins A, C, and D. The leaves also contain high levels of beta-carotene, polyphenols, flavonoids, essential amino acids, and antioxidants.

I drink organic Moringa tea at least once sometimes twice a day. If you are pregnant avoid drinking or taking Moringa as this drink can cause contractions in pregnant women. Drinking more than two cups a day can cause heartburn. Otherwise enjoy the many benefits of this Miracle drink.
